QUIET RETREAT
A concept study in warmth, form, and domestic gathering.
-
Quiet Retreat is a personal visualization project exploring domesticity through the lens of a modern Tudor-style home. Focusing on the kitchen and outdoor living spaces, the concept imagines architecture not just as shelter—but as a vessel for hosting, gathering, and quiet family moments.
-
Initially developed as a reinterpretation of Tudor-style architecture, the project blends familiar forms—pitched roofs, warm materials—with a softened, contemporary sensibility. The intention was to visualize a home where life unfolds slowly: shared meals, open doors, and golden light.
“I wanted to create a home that feels quietly generous. Not a showpiece, but a place for people.”
-
Architectural Style: Modernized Tudor—elevated but approachable
Spaces Visualized:
A textured, light-filled kitchen framed by soft arches
An outdoor living space with pool, dining, and open sky
Materials & Palette: Pale stone, warm wood, plaster, natural textiles
Atmosphere: Grounded, sunlit, made for real living
-
Began with Revit layout sketches based on natural circulation and daylight
Modeled interiors and exteriors as part of the same cohesive visual story
Prioritized lighting direction and surface realism over complexity
Applied gentle post-processing to unify tone, soften contrast, and evoke stillness
-
The final scenes offer a quiet narrative—spaces that feel both styled and sincere. Quiet Retreat is less about perfection, more about feeling: how light fills a kitchen in the morning, or how dusk settles over a backyard ready for dinner.
